What that loss means regarding the Cardinal’s prospects in the Pac-12 conference remains to be seen. Their September 23 game versus the Arizona Wildcats will reveal a lot more about how good they can be under their new coach. After all, the next six games are all in-conference, and they’re all versus currently ranked opponents: #13 Oregon, at #18 Colorado, #24 UCLA, #8 Washington, at #23 Washington State, and at #16 Oregon State. Then the play at home against a Cal team that just narrowly lost to Auburn, and they wrap up the season at home versus #9 Notre Dame. This is absolutely one of the toughest schedules in all of college football this season.
While the season ahead may be difficult, the fact remains that the atmosphere at Stanford Stadium during a home game is something special.
